Your privacy matters to us. Here's exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we keep it safe.
1. Overview
Quevy ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly: your name, email address, and profile photo when you register or complete your profile. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google. Audience members who submit questions do so anonymously — we generate a display name but do not collect or store personally identifiable information from them.
3. Information Collected Automatically
When you use the Service, we may collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited. We use an HTTP-only session cookie (encrypted JWT) for authentication. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to: operate and improve the Service; authenticate you securely; send transactional emails such as welcome and email-verification messages via Resend; and respond to your support requests. We do not sell your personal information.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Quevy: Google (OAuth 2.0 sign-in), Uploadthing (profile photo storage), and Resend (transactional email). Each of these services has its own privacy policy and data practices that govern your interaction with them.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data. Passwords are hashed using bcryptjs and are never stored in plain text. Session tokens are encrypted using JWT (HS256). Despite these measures, no system is 100% secure.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can update your profile information in your account settings. To request account deletion or a copy of your data, contact us at hi@reviiew.me.
9. Children's Privacy
Quevy is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
